15 Weeks

Apologies for being MIA last week!  Can you blame me with that GREAT weather and on top of that I am feeling back to normal!!  I am going to try to stick to my goal... AT LEAST one post a week... but anyway, hope you all are enjoying this early spring!

Exercising?  What a FABULOUS couple weeks it has been!  Did a little yoga and STARTING to get back into our walking routine!

Maternity clothes? I have been sporting my Maternity jeans pretty often!  My new maternity work pants are so comfortable as well.  I can still fit in few of my pants, but I am also trying to “dress up” Yoga pants for work by wearing long tops, which is working really well. Trying to do anything to stay comfy and keep pressure off my tummy.

Sleeping?  My bed time went from 7/8pm to 11pm in no time!!  I don’t feel like a walking zombie anymore!   I mean I am tired, but that is because I am enjoying my late nights again.  And without drinking my pot of coffee in the morning these days, I tend to regret staying up that late pretty quickly.

Missing Anything? I am defiantly feeling the beginning tolls of pregnancy on my body now and the feeling that I am losing control of my fitness level is a little discouraging.  I just feel that I cannot achieve the goals I use to be able to do.  And I understand that I will not be able to, but I miss the good, intense workouts that left you sweating like you just got out of a pool!

Food cravings?  Not quite…. Just loving my fresh fruit!  I have been eating a carton of berries a day whether it is strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries.  Baby Foti is BERRY healthy so far!

Acid Reflux? Tums are the purse at all times… but as long as I keep a little something in my tummy, it seems to stay away a little longer.   I am feeling pretty lucky at this point that nothing has escalated to the point of going back on my medication.

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Brushing my teeth use to make me gag ALL THE TIME and that seems to be subsiding as well… I think my queasy stage is pretty much OVER.   Whoo hoo!

This Weeks Symptoms?  Do allergies count?  haha... I know those are not baby induced, but maybe this stuffy nose is part of pregnancy sniffles? I also feel like it is way too early for this symptom, but I have been having lower back pain!  Not only am I getting more uncomfortable in the front with my tummy growing, but my back is hurting when I walk, when I get up from sitting, and when I change positions in bed.  Especially on my left side… this one little area right above my left butt cheek.  Ugh. I feel so out of shape and falling apart by the day.

Gender? According to the Chinese calendar… it’s BOY!  http://www.chinesefortunecalendar.com/PredictSex.htm Try it out for yourself…. Is the calendar right for your kids!?   But seriously, still getting predictions in and every one is: GIRL.  Lindsay had a dream with the baby in it... it was a boy(Tyler smiled like a little kid on Christmas morning when he heard this).  I have been waiting to have a dream with a baby appearance to see a gender, but honestly, I have not had any out of this world dreams like I thought pregnant women have.

Any Movement? I know this may sound off the wall, flipping crazy… but last Sunday night I was reclined in a chair and I SWEAR there were like little flutters in my tummy!  Maybe like 4 little ones in an hour span that I was actually trying to pay attention… I had already eaten dinner so I wasn’t hungry (and those pains are much more vibrant) and I was not “gassy” so I can only wonder if this baby is already on the move!  Or my brain is over thinking, as that is always a possibility.  Have not felt anything since, but trying to have a keen awareness of what that little bugger is doing in there.

Labor Signs? Nope.

Belly Button: in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off?  On (forgot to put it on this morning when i took this picture though!) – but boy were my fingers a little swollen after that spectacular weather and working hard all last weekend at my moms house.  Including a outdoor break for washing my car… I am wondering how far into the summer I will be able to wear these pretty things because once the heat hits I have a feeling I will be turning into the Michelin man!!  You people all say "aww.. you will have a cute little bump", but "cute little bump" my butt, I will probably be a walking marshmallow with the mix of my love for salt and the wicked heat of summer.

Overall Mood this week?  Great!  Have my energy back for the most part and LOVING this weather!!   I would also have to admit that now the fatigue has disappeared, a little anxiety has crept in.  All those crazy questions of how to take care of a helpless little human are eating at me.  How much do you feed them?  What if they are too hot or too cold?  Can you tell if they are sick?  How do you take a shower when you are alone with a baby?  I mean, Tyler and I have never even changed a diaper... oh golly geee... this baby is in for their own little adventure.  I hope baby Foti is born with more patience than me!

Looking forward to? Walking…. Little by little everyday hoping that this back pain can be fixed or at least relieved a little!   I can also say I am looking forward to finding out the gender.... 5 more weeks at the most!!

Pit of the week?  I will admit, St Patrick ’s Day was a little depressing.  Gawking on facebook at all the fun and green beer my friends were participating in was brutal to see and not be a part of.  I mean no one even called me to make plans!  Haha- I know, that was a joke!!  Who wants to hang with a pregnant lady on the biggest drinking day of the year!?  But on the up side- Sunday, I woke up at 8am- alarm free- and had a wonderfully productive day with the Mum.  Cleaning and enjoying the amazing sunshine!  I think… wait… I know that Sunday would NOT have been that great hung-over and debilitated by previous day of drinking debauchery.

Peak of the week?  The weather. Bring on the summer weather!

Make it a great week and sorry about the late post!
Much Love,
Jax

13 Weeks

Ok, the hubby is gone, but I had to post a picture...So I had to do the self picture in the mirror. And it is blurry and bad quality... but you have to check out my new pants!  The navy blue fabric covering my tummy is attached to the jean and there are no buttons or zippers!  haha...but really... this is why maternity pants are so amazing!  I recommend every woman have a pair- preggo or not....

Exercising?  Did my yoga workshop on Saturday morning and ABSOLUTLY loved it!  I feel so much more confident walking into any yoga studio and knowing the FUNDAMENTALS of a good yoga workout!  Now, I have a full week free at this studio and I am looking forward to stopping in every night I am free to practice.  I am also looking forward to finding a studio that might not be as expensive in the long run. Walking will be a must this week as well, considering the swimsuit weather in the middle of March!

Maternity clothes? I caved in already… took a trip to Destination Maternity in Brookfield. (Which my cousin told me offers prenatal yoga- yay!) But I also got to try on some maternity pants.  I know the whole “bump” thing is suppose to be “cute and fun”, but I have felt nothing but FRUMPY the last several weeks.  Once I put on a pair of these maternity pants I was instantly “excited” to dress my new progressing figure.  I am telling you… I do not want to go back to regular jeans/work pants! Haha.  Also, some of the dresses that were there I would want to wear even if I wasn’t pregnant!  So looking forward to getting attire for our MANY wedding this summer!

Sleeping? You know… I think my energy is coming back in the last two days or so, I really do, but I had a nasty cold this past week that kicked my butt.  I slept all day Thursday and Friday!

Missing Anything? Nothing is tugging at me or making this pregnancy unbearable.   I did think about sushi in the last week (yummy)… but other than that I just go through little phases where I am like- oh I don’t miss being drunk and hungover at all, and then… I go the exact opposite way and wonder when is the first event after September 16th going to happen so I can enjoy a martini!!

Food cravings? No cravings yet… but I have an appetite, finally!  I have been eating every couple hours so I keep granola bars and fruit nearby at all times!  I cannot get enough fresh fruit.

Acid Reflux? Nothing a couple tums cannot take care of right now… Even enjoying some decaf coffee a little more often, too!

Anything making you queasy or sick? I think for the most part, my tummy has been feeling better. It feels the worst if I don’t eat every couple hours.  I still feel like some scents are too strong, but maybe I can control it a little more now and it doesn’t worry me that I will be sick.

This Weeks Symptoms?  Well, I think I can feel dull pressures in my tummy area…  I feel like things are growing at crazy speeds in there and my tummy is getting use to sharing the space with the little one.

Gender? We have had a few people say “oh, it is going to be a girl”… but no one has made the prediction of a boy… is this a sign?  Hehe… Still like 7 weeks to go on this question… any predictions?

Any Movement? Nope.

Labor Signs? Nope.

Belly Button: in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Overall Mood this week?  Frustrated.  Being someone who never gets sick, dealing with a cold this past week was quite miserable.  On top of it, I learned that medications a pregnant woman can take are basically slim to none.  So advice from my doctor: “Ride it out… sleep and water.”  I also think I was a little bit of a baby because I forgot how much being sick SUCKS!   But let me tell you… sleep and water are truly the best medicines.  I thought I was going to die on Wednesday, I slept all day Thursday and all day Friday, and by Saturday morning I was starting to feel victory!  Today, I know I sound like I have a cold, but I feel great!

Looking forward to? This 70 degree weather that is on the way in the middle of March!!  Whoo whoo!

Pit of the week? The sickness and the husband being gone Thursday through Monday for work (especially both of them happening at the same time!!)

Peak of the week? My yoga workshop was an absolute joy.  I feel completely sucked in and eager to continue this new love.

Make it a great week and enjoy the SUNSHINE!
Much Love,
Jax

Nursery Inspirations!

Who can resist these cuddly friends!?  If you know me, this may not surprise you.  Winnie will be a perfect start for inspiration!  And again, if you know me, you may be asking if I will be handing down my Winnie the Pooh blankie…  ummmm. no.  Baby Foti will get his/her own.

Now for painting…. This room is just an IDEA of what we like… of course the bedding will be Winnie, but the vertical strips and the silhouette of the tree are huge concepts I want to carry into our nursery.  I am thinking a GOLDEN YELLOW (like Winnie himself) and also adding to the painted black tree my own personal touches…including next to it, painting silhouettes of Winnie and friends!  It will be like a modern 100 acre woods right in Baby Foti’s room!   Below are a few quotes that cannot be passed up as well... those are a must.

These are just a couple cute pictures I found as well…

Thanks for checking it out!
Any advice is totally welcome.

What was your nursery theme?
How was building your nursery?
Did it turn out the way you expected?
Any unseen road blocks I should be aware of?

Much Love,
Jax
